First of all, I am not going to defend Kanye for his outburst at the VMA the other night, because he was wrong for ruining the moment for the talented Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. But really, was this really that bad?! As shocked as I am to see what happened, I am just as shocked to see that people are surprised by his antics. Come on people, this is Kanye West, certify egomaniac and is no stranger for these type of outburst. Remember...the Bush bashing, MTV Europe, AMAs. What I am surprised is that MTV has not apologized to Taylor Swift for allowing this to happen. Why should they apologized? Well it's not the first time MTV has allowed these type of things to happen, not to mention other crazy shenanigans. In my opinion, they should have be alerted when Kanye was seen taking swigs out of a bottle of Hennessy on the red carpet. For a person with a history of stage crashing and random outburst (did I mention he was drunk) I wondered my nobody stopped him on his way to the stage. What was everybody thinking? "Oh there goes Kanye, he's heading to the stage during a middle of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech because he's sure to have something good to say". Let's not forget it happened again during Jay-Z's show closing performance when they let Lil' Mama walk on stage and crash the performance.

With that said, there's no way to spin this to say Kanye was not wrong, he was wrong. It's just funny to see everybody blast him for the incident. The only bad part to this was who he did it to, an innocent up and coming pop star. Remember when he crashed the acceptance speech for Justice and Simian at the MTV Europe Awards when that happened, people did the same judging of Kanye's character but no one felt bad for Justice and Simian? When it happens to a 19 year old pop star, they crucify him as if he just pummeled Rihanna face inside a Lamborghini. Just let it go, get over it. When he goes on his next tour, everybody will still be there. When he drops his next album, everybody will go out and cop. Just let it go.

Haven't been blogging for a bit, don't know if I lost the love for it or just I haven't had to deal with much or any bullshit this summer. Whatever it is, I am still here, I am back.

September is here which means summer is finally over and I am actually glad that its past us because for real this was one of the best summer I've had in a while. No bullshit, just fun, out and about having fun with friends.

On another note, darkmatters is hitting crunch time as we're trying to hit all of our deadlines for our debut project. I've been M.I.A. for a minute, but now I am back working on the website, and our brand designs. I need to create some samples to show the crew so we can get moving on promoting our brand and our project. The next two months is going to be huge and very important for us so look out for that.

Anyways got to get back to work, here are some of my favourite shots from my trip our east a few weeks ago. Play safe, deuces!

It's been two days now and the news still hasn't sunk in for me. Sure we lost a few musical icons this year, but this was different, AM was different. Musical talents aside, Adam was someone that you root for, having persevered through so much from drug problems to surviving that horrific plane crash. It seems like the angels were on his side, it just wasn't his time to go. It saddens me that this guy may never get the recognition he deserves for his work and his talent, it saddens me that after all that he's gone through he had to go out the way he did, it saddens me that I'll never get the chance to see him spin. RIP DJ AM - "...make the angels dance"

The Rock Show Part 2

Went to see Blink with Kyla, Dexter and Teddy the other day. Musically it wasn't the best show I've seen, but the vibe and the memories it brought back more than made up for that. I can't speak for them but for me, being there singing along to every song, laughing at Tom's and Mark's stupid jokes, and admiring Travis Barker's solo, it brought back a lot of memories from my teenage years. It was a really fun night, from the epic ride/transit down to Molson to the stupid so called "afterparties". I am glad Blink is back and playing together, +44 is cool and Angels & Airwaves is bleugh but Blink 182 is Blink 182. It's what's right (Travis, Tom & Mark), their music was the soundtrack to our adolencent years and it represented all those silly memories we all shared.

I don't know how I feel about this album yet since I didn't download all the leak tracks I patiently waited for the whole thing. And the fact that Fabolous isn't known for putting together a good album. Anyway there's been a BTS video floating around for the making of this song, which got me real excited for this song. Ryan Leslie laid the tracks, Keri Hilson filled the hook and Fab came through with the punchlines. Dope song, hopefully the rest of the album is good and it gives me a reason to put up another Keri Hilson picture.

What Went Wrong?!

For the longest time I had this Blink 182 song in my head, I remember the melody but just don't not the words. The last time I heard this song was in Grade 8. So every now and then this song will pop up in my head to haunt me because I have no idea what it's called. Every since a few weeks ago when we purchased tickets for the Blink 182 show on the 8th (yes! very excited) I've been on a mission to find out what this song was. I literally went through their entire discography, compilations and all, still nothing. Then last night when I was having a conversation with a close friend of mine Teddy (another Blink fanatic) I asked him about the song. I told him how I remember seeing a video of it where Tom is performing by himself on a stage with a red backdrop and I think Mark was dicking around when he was performing. After a few seconds he was like...."was it what went wrong?". A quick youtube seach later...

If there is a guy who I think will play football until he dies, it's Brett Favre. At almost 40 years of age Brett his flirting with the chance to play his 17th season in the NFL. Sure mock him all you want for "retiring" and "un"-retiring, but we all know that wasn't a sincere retirement because it wasn't time for him to leave this sport that he loves. And one more thing, what's this garbage about him being a diva and leaving the Vikings hanging about the possibility of playin for them. I think Brett's performance throughout his career (and his gatrillion NFL records) proves that if he wants to weight his options a little bit then that's what he is going to do, he is NFL royalty. Not to mention the man is 39 and just coming off a shoulder surgery so leave him alone. If he wants to play for you (Minnesoda Vikings) you should be jumping for joy and wait patiently for him to make up his mind. It's not like the quarterbacks you have will get you anywhere anyways.

And how good would it be though for Favre to put on a Viking jersey and play in the same division as his former team The Green Bay Packers. That's two for sure high rated classic games on tap this year (if he plays for them of course). So...I'd say...Let him play.

LET VICK PLAY

Today is the official release date for Michael Vick from his dog fighting sentence. It is still unsure if Roger Goodell will lift his "suspension" from the NFL for his part in the dog fighting ring. For Mike Vick that part of his life is now in the past, it's no longer about the dog. He has served his sentence, paid his due for his wrong doings. Now it's time for him to get back to what he does best, back where he belongs, in a NFL jersey playing football.

Whether you are a Michael Vick supporter or not, you have to pull for this guy. Sure he was wrong, he shouldn't have done what he did, but he admitted to his mistakes and served his sentence. All he need is a chance to prove to everybody, he's changed. In my opinion I think America owes him at least a chance, because they praised him, loved him when he was at his best and they stomped him, left him when he was at his lowest. Through it all he has lost almost everything, his fans, fortune, reputation. But it's nothing he can't get back, can't build back, all he is missing is a chance. I assume now for Mike Vick it's no longer about the fans, the fortune, and his reputation. It's about accepting this new chapter of his life and getting back to playing football.

As for commissioner Roger Goodell, please reinstate Mike and give him a chance to be back in under the lights every Sunday night.

If you don't think such "person" exists well then you haven't met my mother. It just seems that ever since we moved in to this house 5 or 6 years ago she's been buying and buying a lot of random kitchen appliances. I swear the god we have at least 3 "multi-functional" rice cookers. That's not even it, we have a soup maker, a waffle maker, a "rediculously" non-stick pan, a magic bullet, a big ass (most industrial size) juicer, 2 george foreman grills, 2 blenders, 2 coffee makers and just recently a bread maker. This is just the starting line up, I haven't even looked downstairs in the basement for the retirement players yet. But damn ever since a few weeks ago when I lent my friend our waffle maker I noticed how many random kitchen appliance we have out in the kitchen. Am I crazy of is everybody's house like this. But forreal though they're all like her toys, she brings some new stuff every other week and makes a load of shit with it (depending on what it is of course).

During the "POV (Power of Veto)" competition where the house guest had to pop the pimples to collect letters and to spell the longest word they possible can. Jeff one of the house guest playing in the competition just admitted he's not much of a "speller" and that he can't even text the right words on his phone for the spell check to come up. Well when the competition was over, this was what he spelled "TECTRONICS". SMFH.

Now you're probably going "WTF", that's the same reaction I had when I stumbled upon those trailers last night. I wanted to laugh, but at the same time I was so puzzled at how these could be movies, legit movies. I honestly didn't believe these were real at all. They are not the funniest things I've seen on before but damn, seriously "Transmorphers". So I did some digging via. Wikipedia and found this.

"The Asylum (the company that made "Transmorphers") is an American film studio and distributor which focuses on producing low-budget, usually direct-to-video productions. The studio is best known for producing titles which appear to capitalize on productions by major studios. These titles have been dubbed "mockbusters" by the press."

So after reading that it wasn't as funny anymore and then I found this I was like "holy crap! look at all the movies they've made"

I am going to start downloading some of these and watch, just for the hell of it. Also for the fact that they're so low budget that they look funny as hell.

What's up everybody, welcome to our page (don't laugh I know that sounded funny). "darkmatters" is a small toy company founded by yours truly along a few good friends of mine. What we are trying to do with "darkmatters" is to work with different artists within Toronto to promote their art/bring them to life so to speak and to establish us as a Toronto based toy company. What started out as a normal conversation about our summers soon turned into discussions about the possibilities of starting and running our own business. A few months later and after countless hours dedicated to this project I am proud to say we are within arms reach from the starting line and officially dive ourselves into "the toy making business" (I know that sounded funny also). Initially starting out, I had some doubts of making all of this a possibility, because 1) we had no idea what we are doing or should be doing, 2) we needed funding 3) and as the old saying goes "never go into business with your friends". But turns out those obstacles were not as difficult to iron out as we had originally thought and honestly the team that we have (Dexter, Jeremy, Teddy, Jefford + Paddy) there's no other people I would do this with then them. Most of them I know for a very long time now (except for Jefford) and I trust them all, because at the end of the day that's all we can rely on is trusting in each other to make this all work.

With this site as well as our Twitter page, you can see updates from members of the team. We'll try to keep this as up to date as possible. With our first models coming soon, as well as various sketch ideas of upcoming projects, there should be a lot of interesting materials popping up soon. So keep your eyes peeled.

A close friend of me has been telling me to start making mixtape for her, since she is kind of lost in terms of music. Since taking her to a club for my birthday last year, she told me she had no idea what half of the songs playing were. So yeah a year later I finally remember my promise of making "the mixtape".

The whole process of putting a mixtape together is a lot tougher than I had originally thought. From gathering songs, to trimming down the list and putting the tracks in an order that would make sense. Long story short, this took a while to finish.

After hours of listening and going through different themes and genres. I decided to make this first one solely based on "Remixes". The name "Not The Remix...Baby" came from well...Lil' Wayne because whenever he jumps on a remix he'll go "It's the remix baby" like we don't know it's the remix. As for the song selection, I tried to keep it fresh by keeping the remixes that are featured as CD singles, B-sides, or bonus tracks. So it's not the remixes that you would hear on the radio everyday thus adding the title of "Not The Remix". Also I made sure it's an absolute remix not just the same beat with dozens of features (with the exception of the first track). As for the order of the track list, this was the most difficult step because I wanted this to flow well and not just jump from track from track. When you listen to it, you'll notice it starts strong with a party anthem type of song then it gradually slows down for a few slower tempo songs then it picks back up again for a strong finish. Finally for the artwork, I had no idea what to do with it and it frustrated me a bit because it was the only thing in the way of me finishing and uploading this whole thing. As you can see I played around with a picture of Santogold (now Santigold), I love her music and it's evident as she's featured on three tracks.

Anyways this is now done, I already listened to this like a gabillion times during the whole process. So give it a listen, I tried to make it for everybody to enjoy so...enjoy it. Feedback is always welcome. Thanks

I never understood why people like him so much, although I can say that I am impressed after listening to a few tracks but still I didn't quite understand why he's so popular. I am sad that I didn't my camera with me to document the cool events that went on this weekend. First of all I would like to thank all my friends that came out to the dinner, it was awesome. I've never had a BIG celebration before and having all of you guys there made me feel special, so I would like to thank all of you for that. Another thanks goes out to the "mastermind" Ms. Melanie Wu for trying her hardest to keep everything underwraps and planning the whole thing. Although she did slip up almost at the last minute but it's all good. She got me back by stealing my house key and decorated my door with brithday decor, leaving me dumbfounded and a heartbeat or two from a heart attack. From the bottom of my heart thank you guys so much for making my night so special. I am a happy 21 year old now!

R.I.P. Air McNair

I was skimming through my Tweetdeck when I came across a tweet from Kevin Durant that read "RIP Steve McNair". I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me as I literally rubbed my eyes to make sure I read it right. Then I proceed to check ESPN to confirm it, former NFL quarterback dead at 36.

Although the details surrounding his death is still being pieced together. Whatever happened the truth will come out. Aside from that, I am sure all NFL fans would agree with me that this was one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. To me I will always remember him for his toughness of the field, his athleticism, his will, his drive and that he was inches away from winning a Super Bowl. He gave everything he had and more during his 13 year career. Words cannot express the amount of respect I have for him and the sadness I feel now that we lost another great one. RIP number 9.

Anyways you know I am a huge fan of this dude, c'mon I watched Degrassi (old and TNG). But while I was watching this I wasn't sure how I felt about it because it looked mad corny and cut and pasted together with tons of BOOBs. Then around the 3:13 mark when Fab and Trey do their best Craig & Smokey impersonation from Friday "dammmmmmmm". Oh right the little speech at the end was jokes too. "Take that D, Take that D, Take it like the Champions that you are" "You all know what you can do in 2 minutes". In case you haven't noticed, there's this cool little tool over at ESPN.com titled "NBA Trade Machine" where wannabe GM's like me get to mess around with trade scenarios to see if they work within the NBA trade guidelines.

Now I know a lot of Raptor fans are bracing themselve's to the possibility of yet another franchise player skipping town. As of right now, the chances of Chris Bosh returning in Raptor red next season is very slim. Once again this franchise is littered with the "potential" tag, and that is simply not good enough to keep anybody around no matter, because in order for a player to make big time money (max contract) they have to earn it first by winning. Playing on a subpar or average team will not get you anywhere. So this creates a huge headache for everybody in Raptor land, what should they do with Chris Bosh?

My solution is simple, as simple as getting rid of Chris Bosh right now. Why? I had a conversation with a friend of mine the other day discussing this issue and how Chris will be demanding a max contract next summer (6 years 136 million dollars?) People familiar with the NBA know that you don't neccessarily have to be a "max" player in order to get paid like one. This leads to another question, is Chris a max player? In the NBA there are only a handfull (being real generous here) of deserving max contract players. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Tim Duncan, etc all carry lengthy resumes that includes MVPs, multiple playoff victories and of course for a few of them NBA championships. I know it's still too early to judge Chris Bosh's body of work in the NBA because he is only 25 years young which is far from the age when NBA stars reach their peak. No doubt he is talented, he's a winner, I respect what he has accomplished so far in his career. But this is literally a toss up, Chris is young, talented but injury prone and his production level has been the same the last three years and coincendentally his team failed to get far into the playoffs (missing it last year). The Raptors right now are a talented squad (even without Bosh) but they are littered with young players and if you count Shawn Marion the next player in terms of senority is Jake Voskuhl. This team lack the toughness and veterin leadership that a perenial playoff team has.

So with that said I found a team that should be a perfect fit on and off the court for our soon to be ex franchise player. Chris Bosh welcome to Houston Texas.

With the recent developments regarding Yao Ming's foot injury and it's implications. Knowing that this injury can be detrimental to the team's future, also the fact that it's hard to imagine the Rockets as the type of team that would fold under this type of situation and give up on the season. If Yao is out for the entire 09-10 season, there will be a huge hole in the middle for the Rockets to fill. Enter Chris Bosh, having the ability to play both the center and power forward spot I see Bosh as a perfect compliment for Luis Scola. Bosh's got the length and quickness that Scola lacks in low post defense. As a big men in the NBA Bosh is one of the best at running the floor. The Rockets equipped with one of the quickest guard in the league in Aaron Brooks and with Bosh they can finally play a faster pace that they couldn't with Yao in the lineup thus making their offense multi-dimensional. And do I have to really mention that Bosh is from Texas (although born in Dallas) being in the home state would be a huge confident booster.

In return the Raptors should take Shane Battier, Carl Landry and the contract of Brian Cook (waive him later to save money). The Raptors are sure to improve in all of their weak areas in one fell swoop (scoring, defense, rebounding).

That for the last few years that we've all turned against the men in the picture above and now that he's gone everybody is acting like he's our best friend. It's like all the MJ haters out there all of a sudden disappeared and now that he passed away they act like they've been on his shit all along. Now I get it you want to pay respects to the man but my god, it's just crazy how many people are acting like they've been on this man's side all of these years.

I see this happen to people all the time, and I'd like to think (no I am) extremely careful with things that I care for. So when I picked this baby up and hit play and saw this blank screen of death featuring a huge motherfucking crack. I felt my heart drop, like I said in my previous post about my iPod, I love this baby to death. It's been with me everywhere, everyday, all the time, it's a part of me. I hear stories about how people's iPod break and stuff I never thought for a moment it would happen to me. What the fuck am I going to do now?! It's a good thing I have an iPhone, but still it will never be or come close to what this baby meant to me. This is really great, and the thing is I don't know how it got like that. I was at Best Buy the other day wasting time, when I saw a boxset for "Freaks and Geeks" remember these guys?! Apparently a lot of people have never heard of "Freaks and Geeks", because this show is 10 years old and it was only around for one season. I remember when I was maybe 11 or 12 when this show was around, it was probably the first non family/kids show I've watched. I remember how I used to have a huge crush on Linda Cardellini's character Lindsey. It's just so strange how most of these guys have moved from doing a critically acclaimed show to big blockbusters. The real funny thing is that I hated Seth Rogen's character Ken because...well if you watch it you'll understand why. But now I am a huge fan of his work. Anyways I regretted not buying the boxset because I never watched all of the episode, so doing what I do best I downloaded the whole thing. Shhhhhhhhh. Alright, episode 3 let's go.

I forgot to mention how many cameos they had on the show, but then again nobody really has any idea who they were because they only choose lesser known actors. I am not sure who else was on it, I only remember Rashida Jones, Shia LeBeouf and Ben Stiller.

I was really hesitant to go watch this movie in the theaters because I deemed it "was a watch it at home for free" type of movie. If you love action flicks then this one is definitely for you. The story was simple, fast pace and tons of ass kicking. I swear I am never seem so many people get decapitated in an movie or anything ever. Now I know I have a tendency to over hype things, but this is truly brilliant. I know I am very late on this movie and I have put off watching this for the longest time. Without giving it away, Once is a modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. Aside from the music, the chemistry of the two co stars was what made the movie that much more enjoyable. Not to sound cheesed or anything, but I haven't felt so moved by a film since Before Sunset. This is just a timeless movie, and a beautiful story. Not the mention that the soundtrack is amazing. I am really glad I watched this and I am really thankful for my friend Teddy for recommending this.

I love to mess around with photoshop, I don't do it as much as I use to, before I would always have it open so I can play around with pictures. Nowadays I only use it when I have a purpose for using photoshop. So with that said, the other day I was asked by a friend to help restore an old picture. Her mom had removed it from the original frame and during the process a "good" portion of it was ripped off the surface of the photo. Therefore leaving rips and white patch(s) on the bottom of the photo. My job was basically to "fill in the blank". I was "iffy" on posting this since I don't have the permission to but it's nothing a little smiley face can't fix. I am only posting this because I am proud of the work I did fixing this. Here's what I did.

Now I am not a pro, so to speak, there are flaws on the final product so don't kill me for it.

I've been meaning to share this interesting story told to me by my brother's school's basketball coach (whew). One day, after catching one of their games, I went up to introduce myself to my brother's coach. She looked at me like she was happy to meet me, then she proceed to tell me a neat story about my brother and his certain jersey number of choice.

I remember this one day where my brother came home and cried, but I never realized why. Until that afternoon. His coach told me when they were choosing their jersey numbers, my brother wanted to wear "21", but another kid in front of him had another picked that number. While it never clicked in my head initially what's the significant behind "21", I soon realized why he was so upset, because my brother wanted to wear my jersey number. I have to admit, I got a little choked up. I didn't know how to feel, I was happy, proud and a little worried.

For my brother and I because of our age difference (10 years) we don't really do much together and we didn't really connect until this past summer when we spent every moment of everyday with one another since my mom was away. My mom has always told me how much my brother looks up to me, how when he gets something (usually food) he always share with me, how when I am out he'll stay up to wait for me. I never grasp how to be a brother until this summer, I never knew how much he meant to me until this summer and I never knew how much I love him until now.

What worries me is this kid looks up to me, and I haven't exactly been the role model type. It worries me that he'll grow up and do the things that I do. After hearing about the jersey story, I realized how much I am not doing for myself, how much I need to do to better myself, how much I need to do to be a better brother and a better role model. I love this kid to death, I am sure everybody out there who has siblings will know exactly what I am talking about.

For those who know me, know that I love my music and my iPod. Ever since copping it back in '05 I've been carrying it everywhere I go. Since I got the OG 5th Gen iPod (60gb) and knowing how I download music by the gigabyte, it's a surprise I have lasted this long without ever reaching full capacity. I always like to keep things fresh deleting stuff I don't listen to no more (or wondered why I even downloaded in the first place). But recently it's been kind of tough since I am very sentimental, and I hate to part with some of the files. This has also created another problem, I know that one day I will go over that 60gbs (55.68) and I know I will need a new iPod. But I love this one so much I can't come to the fact that I will have to part with it one day. I hate having to throw away things, because I feel like everything has a sentimental value and it's very difficult for me to ditch things. Well I am still alright at the moment floating around 10 gbs, I really don't want to delete anything or get a new iPod (because I'll miss it). I just wanted to rant about this that's all.

So this video that I took from the Drake show of him performing "Every Girl" has been getting hits (views) like crazy. I thought I posted those videos from the show just so I can share the experience. But thanks to the recent news of him hooking up with Rihanna, and the fact that he gave her a shout out (personally I think it was because of her nudie pictures) the view count for that video has sky rocketed. It was at around 1400 last night, then 4400 at around 1pm yesterday. When I left my house last night at 6pm it was already at 14000 views. I just got home and checked again, it's at 55030 (actually count). My email inbox also got spammed with like comment notices for the video as well. It's a little crazy and kind of amazing watching the view count jump like that. Anyways thats way.

I must of shuffled through like ten different layouts and templates, even tried to make my own but since I somehow forgot how to read html or was just too lazy to figure them out. I ended up with the layout I have now. Originally I wanted something where I have space for a banner but then I really didn't want it to look like my own layout. I wanted something different, clean and yet out of the norm. So here we are, with a simple redesign. The sidebar is not on the left, navigation bar is gone (sorry), no banner, wider post space (bigger pictures and videos). It's looking alright so far (at least for me anyways. After realized I have no idea how to shrink my massive video files, I gave up and decided to let youtube slowly upload them for me. The results was a long wait but the vids look great in high quality. Too bad my memory card can't take too many of these. But yea as promised here are the videos that I took from the show the other night.

Probably the biggest part of the show, I got goosebumps when Bun-B came on stage (pause) and I still get goosebumps everytime I watch this video. Dude is a legend in this game, it's so cool for him to come here and show mad love to the fans. And it's friggen Bun-B! r.i.p. Pimp C, 14 years in the game and it's still UGK 4 life.

I know this video is incomplete, that's because I ran out of memory from putting my camera at the wrong setting. I was hoping I could at least catch the hook for "City is Mine" but couldn't.

Alright so tonight was the highly anticipated homecoming for Toronto's own Drake. Well it's technically part two because he came back once with Weezy for "I Am Music". But this was the official homecoming, first time headlining his own tour. The show was pretty dope, I got a little more amped when I got word that Bun-B is in town to perform. The best part of the night has got to be him freestyling over 'Ye's Say You Will and saying how he's "just freestyling, off the dome. no Blackberry, I ain't looking at my phone". Overall though he put on a helluva show, you can obviously tell that Weezy's showmanship rubbed off on him because son was just on all night (no homo). I am one of those people that hates it, not because of the weather but because of my allergies. Every year around spring/summer time my allergy would kick in. I would wake up in the morning I cannot stop sneezing, blowing my nose, or rubbing my eye. It's the worst feeling in the world and it's mad lame since it goes away after I pop one of those allergy pills. It really grinds my gears.

Also with this blog I've been able to blog about some of my favourite shows, movies, etc. With the hope that somebody will read, watch or listen to my two cents and become a fan. Anyways let's get on topic shall we.

Above is the cover art for the lastest Cool Kids mixtape "Gone Fishing". For those who don't know who "The Cool Kids" are...it's not my job to tell you who they are, my job is to provide you a link <--there so you can click on it and open up to the wonderful Wikipedia page that should have more than enough information than you'll need to know. Back on topic, I was kind of late on these guys simply because they rocked xxl t's and sagged their skinny jeans (sorry sometimes I judge a book by the cover). With that said I told myself I won't dig their music because I didn't like how they dressed. Months later, like the hypocrite that I am I watched they're video for "Pennies" and I felt like an idiot the moment the hook came in "kick it in the city/when we in/around town/next door neighbors tellin us/that it's too loud/now neighbor, can you please just turn that mess down?/this is the sound of throwin pennies on the ground". It was not to say I was blown away by that but I was amazed at the fact that the hooked was so fluent, crisp and memorable because by the time the first verse was done I could repeat the hook already word for word. Now that I've gotten the chance to listen to some of their other records, I must admit I am impressed. Because their flow is tight, their word play is nice and they just have fun with it. They don't talk about politics they just rhyme about their gear, and their kicks. Just being "cool" with it that's why they are "The Cool Kids". Like them, hate them Their new mixtape should be out in the next few hours on coolxkids.com (free downloads) definitely give them a listen if you're interested for some "fun" hip hop...even if you're not you should download it because it's free.

If you haven't heard of this dude yet then smh at you. Known earlier on as the white boy rapper that sounds like the other white rapper Eminem. This kid is starting to carve out a niche for himself with his debut album "Asleep in the Bread Aisle". The first time I heard of the name Asher Roth was off his Greenhouse Effect Mixtape, my initial reaction was like everybody else's "damn this kid sounds like Em and he's pretty nice too". Although the mixtape didn't do much for me but it was enough to convince me on the hype train of this "next white rapper". Now that "Asleep in the Bread Aisle" is out, let's just say I can't stop listening to is. If I wasn't convinced about his talents now, then I am now. Given that he has the upper hand on the rest of the 09 Newbies, by putting his album out first. It's not to say "Asleep in the Bread Aisle" is great but it's a solid start and definitely worth a listen.

I've expressed my love for this song from a previous post, or how much I love his music from many previous posts. I really wanted to go to this show but I never gotten around to getting the tickets, and I was out having dinner with my closest friends so it was all good. I am not the biggest fan of Wale but I still think he's dope and it's good to see him doing his thing. The real reason I wanted to go was to see Colin Munroe live, dude is super talented so just be on the lookout for his future projects, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Anyways 2DopeBoyz dropped these videos from the "Attention Deficit" show last night at the Mod Club. Wale does a dope cover of "Best I Ever Had" by OVO's Drizzy, peep the video for his first single "Chillin'" and Colin Munroe's rendition of Yeezy's "Flashing Lights".

Three Mississauga students scope the store's layout through the glass doors and come up with strategy. One will go left, the other right and the third straight ahead to the accessories table.

"You have to have a group strategy and you can't be too greedy," says one. "You have to decide what is the most important piece you want," says another. "I want the blue suit but the jacket is on one side and the pant is on the other side of the department. There is no chance of me getting both if I was alone."

Oh how I remember these girls, the had this hypebeast thing down to a tee. In the span for 4 plus hours they managed to:

- buy 4 rounds of coffee (Starbucks & 2nd Cup)

- steal a metal chair from Dundas square

- all three of them changed jackets

- although they weren't the most attractive looking bunch, but would still get a pass from me (smh) then they pulled out their lil death sticks and started killing themselves slowing right in front of me (biggest f'n turnoff)

- talked about clothes

- got on TV

- game planned

- created an awkward moment when one of them pulled out her Ray Bans (mines were already on)

9:25 a.m.

Stephen Thompson (one of the few people willing to give his name) is an outsider here. He is neither fashionista nor frequent shopper – in fact, he owns a construction company. He has driven from Mississauga for the love of his wife: She has instructed him to get the tunic top she saw on a recent episode of Cityline, even drawn him a helpful picture.

No one tells him he is too far back in the line. No one tells him it is hopeless.

Respects to this man right here, He cam prepped with a drawing so he can buy a dress for his wife. Too bad he didn't get what he was looking for.

Two minutes after opening, the cash registers ring in the first item of the day, a short abstract print chiffon dress.

I usually visit VideoOnSmash once everyday to check up on new music videos. I came across the vid of Swizzy and Drag-On. Now for those who don't know Swizz Beatz' is one of the few producers in the game who produced most of his beats without samples and rely most on his sped up drum patterns. Which means without the process of having to clear samples, he can make you a club banger in a matter of minutes. Back to the video I am sure this was one of those random beats he got and just jumped on it, make a video just for the hell of it. Not to mention this is a hot track too, Swizz didn't try to overdo himself on the mic either.
