First of all, I am not going to defend Kanye for his outburst at the VMA the other night, because he was wrong for ruining the moment for the talented Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. But really, was this really that bad?! As shocked as I am to see what happened, I am just as shocked to see that people are surprised by his antics. Come on people, this is Kanye West, certify egomaniac and is no stranger for these type of outburst. Remember...the Bush bashing, MTV Europe, AMAs. What I am surprised is that MTV has not apologized to Taylor Swift for allowing this to happen. Why should they apologized? Well it's not the first time MTV has allowed these type of things to happen, not to mention other crazy shenanigans. In my opinion, they should have be alerted when Kanye was seen taking swigs out of a bottle of Hennessy on the red carpet. For a person with a history of stage crashing and random outburst (did I mention he was drunk) I wondered my nobody stopped him on his way to the stage. What was everybody thinking? "Oh there goes Kanye, he's heading to the stage during a middle of Taylor Swift's acceptance speech because he's sure to have something good to say". Let's not forget it happened again during Jay-Z's show closing performance when they let Lil' Mama walk on stage and crash the performance.

With that said, there's no way to spin this to say Kanye was not wrong, he was wrong. It's just funny to see everybody blast him for the incident. The only bad part to this was who he did it to, an innocent up and coming pop star. Remember when he crashed the acceptance speech for Justice and Simian at the MTV Europe Awards when that happened, people did the same judging of Kanye's character but no one felt bad for Justice and Simian? When it happens to a 19 year old pop star, they crucify him as if he just pummeled Rihanna face inside a Lamborghini. Just let it go, get over it. When he goes on his next tour, everybody will still be there. When he drops his next album, everybody will go out and cop. Just let it go.

But seriously though I love to hate you, since there's no doubt your a talented cat but you're jocking that BAPE/BBC/Ice Cream shit too hard that you can sometimes come off looking like a joke. Other than that he's good in my books

I don't know how I feel about this album yet since I didn't download all the leak tracks I patiently waited for the whole thing. And the fact that Fabolous isn't known for putting together a good album. Anyway there's been a BTS video floating around for the making of this song, which got me real excited for this song. Ryan Leslie laid the tracks, Keri Hilson filled the hook and Fab came through with the punchlines. Dope song, hopefully the rest of the album is good and it gives me a reason to put up another Keri Hilson picture.

What Went Wrong?!

For the longest time I had this Blink 182 song in my head, I remember the melody but just don't not the words. The last time I heard this song was in Grade 8. So every now and then this song will pop up in my head to haunt me because I have no idea what it's called. Every since a few weeks ago when we purchased tickets for the Blink 182 show on the 8th (yes! very excited) I've been on a mission to find out what this song was. I literally went through their entire discography, compilations and all, still nothing. Then last night when I was having a conversation with a close friend of mine Teddy (another Blink fanatic) I asked him about the song. I told him how I remember seeing a video of it where Tom is performing by himself on a stage with a red backdrop and I think Mark was dicking around when he was performing. After a few seconds he was like...."was it what went wrong?". A quick youtube seach later...

A close friend of me has been telling me to start making mixtape for her, since she is kind of lost in terms of music. Since taking her to a club for my birthday last year, she told me she had no idea what half of the songs playing were. So yeah a year later I finally remember my promise of making "the mixtape".

The whole process of putting a mixtape together is a lot tougher than I had originally thought. From gathering songs, to trimming down the list and putting the tracks in an order that would make sense. Long story short, this took a while to finish.

After hours of listening and going through different themes and genres. I decided to make this first one solely based on "Remixes". The name "Not The Remix...Baby" came from well...Lil' Wayne because whenever he jumps on a remix he'll go "It's the remix baby" like we don't know it's the remix. As for the song selection, I tried to keep it fresh by keeping the remixes that are featured as CD singles, B-sides, or bonus tracks. So it's not the remixes that you would hear on the radio everyday thus adding the title of "Not The Remix". Also I made sure it's an absolute remix not just the same beat with dozens of features (with the exception of the first track). As for the order of the track list, this was the most difficult step because I wanted this to flow well and not just jump from track from track. When you listen to it, you'll notice it starts strong with a party anthem type of song then it gradually slows down for a few slower tempo songs then it picks back up again for a strong finish. Finally for the artwork, I had no idea what to do with it and it frustrated me a bit because it was the only thing in the way of me finishing and uploading this whole thing. As you can see I played around with a picture of Santogold (now Santigold), I love her music and it's evident as she's featured on three tracks.

Anyways this is now done, I already listened to this like a gabillion times during the whole process. So give it a listen, I tried to make it for everybody to enjoy so...enjoy it. Feedback is always welcome. Thanks

Gucci fever

I think I caught the Gucci Mane fever. I never understood why people like him so much, although I can say that I am impressed after listening to a few tracks but still I didn't quite understand why he's so popular. I guess it's just the way he makes it work, his style, his whatever just works for him. But whatever the case I think I caught the Gucci Mane fever. I guess you can say I am a fan.

I thought this wouldn't see the light of day for another few days but I guess not. Within' minutes of the premiere I think it already crashed VideoOnSmash.com. Anyways you know I am a huge fan of this dude, c'mon I watched Degrassi (old and TNG). But while I was watching this I wasn't sure how I felt about it because it looked mad corny and cut and pasted together with tons of BOOBs. Then around the 3:13 mark when Fab and Trey do their best Craig & Smokey impersonation from Friday "dammmmmmmm". Oh right the little speech at the end was jokes too. "Take that D, Take that D, Take it like the Champions that you are" "You all know what you can do in 2 minutes". Not too shabby, nice metaphor with the girls and the basketball team but Kanye dropped the ball on this. Until the next single.

I love her still

I am a little late on this, like maybe 2006 late. That's the last I heard of this girl, she got married, had a baby and her band was finished. I was heartbroken, because The Distillers were simply awesome and just like that everything was over.

Well...

Not quite, because she's back and like I mentioned earlier I am late on this since I have yet to own anything from her new band "Spinnerette". I am holding out hope that they don't sound remotely the same as The Distillers but then again anything from her I would love.

I don't really "dig" JDiggz because I don't like his older records, but I came across this the other day on hustleGRL. It's kind of hella annoying at the beginning then it got better and better. Overall the song ain't bad, still don't like him though but I can fuck with this.

New Divide

I remember Kanye saying something about how he had to quickly release his "Welcome to Heartbreak" video with Cudi because he claims he had to since someone was going to release video with similar effects. Then Mr. Hudson came out with his video which I thought was the video Ye was referring to. But then he wouldn't stiff arm his own artist would he? Then LP dropped their video for "New Divide" from the new Transformers movie, maybe this was the video he was referring to....just a hunch.

Now I know I have a tendency to over hype things, but this is truly brilliant. I know I am very late on this movie and I have put off watching this for the longest time. Without giving it away, Once is a modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. Aside from the music, the chemistry of the two co stars was what made the movie that much more enjoyable. Not to sound cheesed or anything, but I haven't felt so moved by a film since Before Sunset. This is just a timeless movie, and a beautiful story. Not the mention that the soundtrack is amazing. I am really glad I watched this and I am really thankful for my friend Teddy for recommending this.

Ain't no party like a S__________ party?

Alright so I am not the party type, not too into clubbing unless it's a club that's got good music. But a friend of mine has been bugging me for a minute about this thing called "Shuffle" that goes down once a month down at Revival. The concept of "Shuffle" is real simple, basically they just shuffle through songs from genre to genre, so you can be bumping to some R. Kelly and next thing you know ACDC is on. After watching some of their videos off their youtube channel, I was convinced, because you can see how into it the crowd it, the music is REAL LIVE and you know when 1LoveT.O./Remix fam is in the building it's going to be a real PARTY. So with that said since their last one was yesterday, I am thinking of hitting up the one in June.
